Jimmie McMillian met with Zyaire Sanders from Global Prep Academy. Jimmie shared how he was determined to succeed and even though he made it to college, his difficult childhood impacted his journey leading him to drop out. While working for Firestone, he gained a passion for racing. He went back to college and overcame challenges to get to where he is today. Jimmie shared his journey from being a partner at Barnes & Thornburg law firm to deciding to “merge my passion with my profession…”
Jimmie asked Zyaire what advice he would give to his younger siblings and Zyaire answered that they should submit their work on time as he had almost failed 7th grade because he didn’t turn in his work.
Jimmie echoed the advice Zyaire gave adding: “that’s an important lesson to learn, most people struggle not because they’re not smart enough but because they don’t do the basics like turning work in on time…”
