Creed Humphrey (Potawatomi Nation)

A native of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Creed Humphrey is the current center for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. In 2022, Creed was selected for the Pro Bowl and was part of the team that won Super Bowl LVII. Creed is a proud member of the Potawatomi Nation. Humphrey grew up just 40 miles east of Norman in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was wrestling at the age of four, according to Brugler. He continued to wrestle through middle school, but shifted his attention to football after that and never looked back. He is the No. 3 ranked center in the country out of Shawnee High School, Humphrey chose to continue his career at Oklahoma and quickly established himself as one of the top collegiate players at the position. Now, all these years later, he’s sticking in the Midwest and continuing his career as a member of Chiefs Kingdom. Originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (63rd overall) by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 NFL Draft. One of his career highlights was not allowing a sack on QB Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles who recorded the most sacks in the regular season (70). In an Interview with  potawatomi.com.  Creed said  “There’s not a ton of representation with Native Americans throughout sports,” “So I’m very happy to be able to be a person that younger kids look up to.”
