Growing up, I viewed working as a means of providing as I saw my grandparents and parents get up, go to work, get paid, and repeat. However, my time at the City of Indianapolis was a turning point where I realized that work could be a means to finding purpose and making a profound impact. As a Black woman, I understand that supplier diversity transcends business; it's about breaking down systemic barriers, creating generational wealth, and empowering marginalized communities. I’ve witnessed firsthand how diverse business ownership can be a catalyst for positive change, and this realization fuels my passion to continue supporting these businesses today. Supplier diversity is not just a job but a calling and an opportunity to honor my ancestors' dreams by contributing to a more equitable and inclusive world.
