Cece Meadows, founder-CEO of Prados Beauty, tapped into what is now her life’s work. Inspired by her Xicana, Yoeme and Nʉmʉnʉʉ roots, Meadows established Prados Beauty in 2018 to highlight that Indigenous representation in beauty is necessary and invaluable. Every facet of the company pays homage to Meadows’ culture – from the company’s moniker (“prados” means “meadows” in Spanish) to her brand’s charming hummingbird insignia. Cece created Prados Beauty to bring light and awareness to Indigenous peoples, our stories, our true history, resiliency, and beauty. Creating space for Indigenous peoples throughout Turtle Island in the beauty space is my mission, and I take great pride in that opportunity. Her beauty company focuses on Indigenous and Xicana representation in beauty “As an Indigenous woman whose ancestors are of the Yoeme and Nʉmʉnʉ people, from present-day Sonora, Mexico, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico, I love learning about my culture, our languages and practicing our traditional ways,” Meadow says. Beyond an intense commitment to delivering on fun and story-driven makeup, Prados Beauty promises to go beyond donating to Indigenous communities and causes and also focuses on volunteering within indigenous communities and uplifting Indigenous voices across digital platforms.
